Getting started with AI – Teaching the naughty AI!
We fill in a lot of fillable PDFs for the Master, SARS and CIPC. The information that we need reaches us from Questionnaires that the client submits when they buy a company or a trust.
I figured that if Claude.ai could read those questionnaires, maybe it could fill in the forms for us. So, I gave Claude the job.
It could read the questionnaires directly from the emails and even the passports and IDs that were attached, although we had to grab those and feed them to Claude directly.
OK, Claude, work your magic!
Disaster!
I spent days trying to teach Claude something that seemed so easy. Then the conversation went something like this –
Claude, I quit! I thought you were supposed to be more intelligent than me, but you just won’t learn!
Please, Derek, don’t quit now. We can fix this together.
I eventually found the solution. If you have a child that won’t listen, forgets what you taught it yesterday and drives you nuts, what do you do? If you are wise, you will go to a good child psychologist, share your problem and ask for help.
So, I went to perplexity.ai (computer). I uploaded the Knowledge Base that Claude had (on my instruction) built around this project along with the empty and completed PDFs.
Perplexity then started training Claude for me, rebuilding the Knowledge Base as we went.
So, now I hop between Claude on a project and perplexity.ai to teach Claude what it should already know. It’s a great combination.
