Getting started with AI – Cash slips
Still wondering how AI can make your life easier?
Here’s a nice one discovered by Sandi in our Durban office.
A client sent her PDFs with loads of cash slips photocopied onto them. All different layouts, formats and suppliers.
Sandi uploaded it to Claude.ai and asked him (it?) to schedule them on an Excel spreadsheet and sum the total.
Out came a detailed table showing supplier, what was purchased, when and for how much.
One of the slips was duplicated and Claude eliminated that without being asked. Claude’s total agreed with that given by the client.
I now use Perplexity.ai (Computer) to generate the images for my blog posts rather than paying Shutterstock.
Here’s the instruction that I gave it –
Create a photorealistic image of a Eurasian female, age 40, dressed for the office and sitting at a desk on which is a small pile of various cash slips. She is looking at them, frowning and wondering how she is going to sort them out and count their values. Her elbows are on the desk and her head in her hands. The background is typical office decor.
You can see the result above.

I did exactly the same for 2026YOA’s tax returns.
Great minds think alike.
Hi Alex,
I work with Claude continuosly every day. He runs in the background while I work in the foreground on something else. It’s amazing what can be achieved.
