SARS is getting more and more aggressive. In early May they started hitting trusts with penallties for non-submission of annual tax returns. Then, on 6 May, we received correspondence from SARS advising that they intended to auto assess a 2nd Provisional Tax return for one of our inactive clients if it was not submitted within 10 business days.

Our Customer Relations Manager (CRM) system is designed to keep our active clients informed of upcoming returns, but please be aware that we cannot accept responsibility for failing to inform you of an up-coming return because our notifications are sent as a courtesy and slip-ups do happen.

So, watch out. Every company and every trust whether active or dormant must submit annual tax returns and, in the case of companies, provisional tax returns. And every individual who earns income over the threshhold, or income other than from employment, must submit annual tax returns and possibly provisional returns as well.

SARS is now penalising all non-compliances every month. If you get hit, you’ll need our help. We can clean up the mess and usually get the penalties or auto-assessment reversed.

    Hi
I have two CCs and a trust that are in active
One cc last filed statements in 2015
    Other one in 2020
    Trust in 2017
Only one CC still have a bank account
Should I liquidate all or try to get up to date with SARS and CIPC
